World Cotton Day (Oct. 7)
Did you know that cotton is the most used fiber in the world? Cotton has hundreds of uses in our everyday lives. Learn all about cotton to celebrate World Cotton Day.
National Farmer’s Day (Oct. 12)
Ways to celebrate National Farmer’s Day:
1) Invite a local farmer to school to talk about crops they grow.
2) Write thank you notes to local farmers.

3) Heart of a Farmer AgTivity
4) Guess the Crop Activity: Display crops or photos and let students guess how they grow, products from them and where they grow.
5) Farm Scavenger Hunt: Hide pictures of farm items around the classroom. When students find them, have them explain why they are important.
National Pizza Month
Pizza is the world’s most popular food with over 3 billion pizzas sold each year. Here are a few ways to celebrate:
1) Pizza Time! (Grades 3-5): Use pizza as a basis for exploring agriculture, geography, and mathematics.
2) Where Does Your Pizza Come From Infographic: Discover the connections between your favorite pizza ingredients, toppings, and agriculture.
3) Read “Pizza Day” by Melissa Iwai: From gathering fresh garden herbs to rolling out the dough for a crust to spreading on sauce and cheese, this picture book teaches young chefs how to make pizza.
