From the Ground Up:
SEPTEMBER—Rice

September is National Rice Month! Rice is the single most important food in the world; it has fed more people over a longer period of time than any other crop. One-half of the world’s population depends on rice as its chief dietary staple, and Louisiana is a leading producer of rice in the United States.

Did you know rice is grown in water? Rice grows in 100 to 180 days. Learn all there is to know about rice!
